Task 1: Thematic Interactive Website Proposal

Instructions

Task 1: Thematic Interactive Website Proposal

We have to create a thematic interactive website proposal for brand engagement in task 1. A thematic interactive website means that it focuses on a specific theme or concept to incorporate interactive elements to interact with users.

Requirements:

We are required to create a proposal for the website with the topic of our choice.
  1. A specific product of a particular brand launch/special (i.e.: Nike brand new shoe), beauty product launch (i.e.: Sephora compact powder)
  2. Movie promotion
  3. Game release promotion
  4. Gallery / Museum exhibit launch
  5. Band / Artist latest release

Proposal:

Based on this proposal, the topics I proposed are all about the product of a particular brand launch as I want to make some different topics from the Interactive class. For the topic from my proposal, I finally chose the Montigo brand as my topic.

Concept Overview: Montigo Disney Princess Collection Website

The Montigo Disney Princess Collection is a themed product line that merges the magic of Disney princesses with Montigo's aesthetic. The website will be an interactive showcase that immerses visitors in the elegance and fantasy of the collection.

The website will combine interactive elements, clickable elements, and others to enhance user experience. It will highlight the Montigo Disney Princess Collection and allow users to explore, engage with, and purchase exclusive products inspired by iconic Disney princesses.

Target Audience:
The primary audience includes fans of Disney and Montigo’s premium lifestyle products, mainly focusing on women aged 18-35. Secondary audiences include collectors, families, and gift shoppers.

The website I want to create feels in line with the elegant and girly image of princesses with a simple color tones background to highlight the princesses’ colors.

Fig 1.4 Flow Chart (ver1)

This is my first version of the wireframes and flow chart. The wireframes look common and general. I was only thinking about how to make the site more interactive for users, but I forgot to pay attention to easy navigation. The result is both of them were too complicated and not easy to navigate the website.

After a discussion with Mr. Shamsul in the class, I have simply the wireframes and flow chart to make the website more easier to navigate.

Feedback

Week 3:
Decided on the final topic, but the content may not be sufficient. I plan to add more content, such as introducing each product's corresponding princess story. The next step is to refine the proposal and create the framework, flowchart, and write concepts.

Week 4:
My wireframes look not so easy to navigate and complicated. Mr. Shamsul suggested me to refine it to be smooth and easy to navigate for users.

Reflection

For the task 1, the process was both engaging and challenging. The project's development required balancing creative aesthetics with practical usability principles. I decided to choose the Montigo Disney Princess Collection to bring a unique, magical touch to the interactive elements. Through wireframe designs and flowchart revisions, I realized that while adding interactivity is important, ease of navigation is crucial to maintaining user engagement. My early designs were overly complicated, so after feedback from Mr. Shamsul, I simplified the layout to ensure smooth navigation for users. This will create a more immersive experience that aligns with the brand and target audience. Overall, I have learned to prioritize user experience alongside creativity from the task 1, and the feedback I received will guide further improvements in both content and design.
